The Gap
Africa loses a significant share of its harvest before it ever reaches a buyer. Not because the produce is poor, but because the infrastructure between farm and market is broken. Cold chains stop at the farm gate. Storage is informal. Cross-border logistics are slow, fragmented, and expensive. The result: African producers absorb the loss, and African markets pay the premium for imported alternatives that never had to survive the same journey.

RACS — RIC Africa Central Supply — is a pan-African cold chain and commodity infrastructure platform built to move perishable and high-value produce reliably across borders. It is the supply-chain backbone of RIC Brands, engineered to connect origin to market without the losses, delays, and quality erosion that currently define intra-African trade.
RACS is built around a single strategic corridor: Kigali – Kampala – Dar es Salaam – Nairobi. This corridor was chosen deliberately — it links East Africa's key production zones to its major ports and consumption centres, creating a continuous cold chain rather than a series of disconnected national ones.
Why the Corridor Matters
East Africa does not lack produce. It lacks the connective tissue to move that produce at scale, on time, and at quality. By anchoring infrastructure along one high-traffic corridor rather than spreading thin across the continent, RACS builds depth before breadth — proving the model on a route where the trade volumes, production zones, and market demand already exist.
Kigali anchors the western edge of the corridor. Kampala connects the agricultural hinterland. Dar es Salaam provides the port gateway to global markets. Nairobi anchors the demand side as East Africa's largest consumption and re-export hub. Together, they form a single working system.
